G. W. Ware, 75, Retired Teacher of Drawing, Dies
Former Business Man Passes Away Following Brief Illness

George Washington Ware, 75, retired, who organized and was the original owner of the Practical Drawing Company, died Sunday at a local hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belle Bowdry Ware, and a daughter, Genevieve Ware of New York.

Mr. Ware was born in Missouri, Dec. 5, 1858, the son of Jesse Allen and Margaret Ware. He was educated in the public schools of Missouri and in the University of Arkansas.

He came to Texas in 1884, taught at Bonham, then went to Fort Worth to teach in a business college. Mr. Ware’s talent as a teacher in penmanship won him recognition and he was appointed supervisor of drawing and penmanship in the Fort Worth public schools. Later he held the same position in the Dallas public schools. He married Miss Nannie Calvin in 1887. She died in 1909. In 1918 he married Miss Belle Bowdry in Fort Worth, and the couple later moved to Dallas.
