“Mr. James L. Ware age 84 of Pascagoula, MS died Thursday morning June 3, 2010 in a local hospital. Born May 10, 1926 in Smith County, MS to the late John B. and Nola Bryant Ware, he had been a resident of Pascagoula since 1957. Mr. Ware proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sergeant, and he was a graduate of Mississippi State University in 1952. He worked as a school teacher and basketball coach in both Simpson and Smith Counties before beginning his career as a plant operator with Mississippi Chemical; he retired in 1985 after 27 years. Mr. Ware was a member of Central Church of Christ.

On May 31, 1947 in Raleigh, MS he married the love of his life Jean Black, she survives.
Among his other survivors are three daughters Rebecca McLaughlin of Moss Point, MS; Sandra Baylis of Houston, TX; Kim Wood and her husband Craig of Enville, TN; a sister Gaye Broxson of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Ware was preceded in death by his brother John Dale Ware, his sister Merle Grace Wade, and two sons-in-law Van McLaughlin and Steve Baylis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday in the Chapel of O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home with Mr. Rob Tate officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 PM Saturday in Bezer Cemetery in Taylorsville, MS.
