Dorothy (Dottie) Lee Ware, 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2000 after a brief battle with cancer. Dottie was surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Jennie M. and Homer “Pop” Burkhammer; and by her father, Dorsey Ware. Dottie was born February 13, 1942. She devoted her life to caring for others as a nanny and CNA. Her love for children made her a special gift to every small life she touched. Dottie is survived by her brother, Elden Burkhammer and wife, Donna, and her four nephews, Matthew, Anthony and Tyler, all of the family home in Albuquerque, Chris of Oklahoma; three sisters, Denna Mae Bayliss, Phillis Burkhammer and Betty McWhorter and their families, all of West Virginia; brother, Norman J. Fox; and her extended families: the Parks, Olivers, Pearces, Siglers, Caddells and the Trujillos. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2000, 9:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. William H. Ratliff officiating. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2000, 3:00 p.m., at Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon, West Virginia with Rev. Randall Hughes officiating.
