Ben Ware Obituary, 2000

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2000, in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for Ben Ware, who died March 11 at age 86. Mr. Ware was born March 12, 1913, in Locust Bayou, Ark. He moved to Portland in 1944, and worked in the shipyards and later was a sandblasting supervisor for FMC for almost 30 years before his retirement in 1978. He was a member and deacon of the church and was former chairman of the deacon board. In 1933, he married Fannie Mae Carroll. Survivors include his wife; sons, Donnell, Ernest and Billy; daughters, Betty Tolbert and Bennie J. Ware; sister, Gladys Warren; brother, Harrison; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes.
