A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at First Baptist Church in Portland for Ross Murray Ware of Portland, formerly of the Lane County area. He died Jan. 1 of age-related causes at age 85. Inurnment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. He was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Powell, Neb., to Ross and Reta Engle Ware. He married Lauralee German on June 22, 1951, in Blackfoot, Idaho. Ware served in the Army during World War II. He held a bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University and also attended Western Washington College. He taught language arts in several high schools, including Mapleton, and retired from Eagle Point School District. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael of Jacksonville and Kevin of Portland; two daughters, Reta Suzanne and Nan Shirley, both of Portland; and four grandchildren. Arrangements by Mount Scott Funeral Home in Portland. Remembrances to a memorial fund at the church.
