AUBURN – Sophronia Ware, 92, of Schwartz Towers, Auburn, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at University Hospital, Syracuse. Sophronia was born in Port Byron, the daughter of Stewart and Florence Hancock Dayharsh. She resided in Port Byron for many years, relocating to Auburn more than 40 years ago. She was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Port Byron schools. She was a life member of the Finley M. King No. 107 Eastern Star of Port Byron, a member of the Port Byron American Legion Auxiliary, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the American Legion No. 169, both of Auburn. Sophronia is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Paul Ware; a daughter, Paula Wallace and a granddaughter, Pamela Edward, both of Maple Grove, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Michelle Wallace and Matthew Edwards; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Stewart Dayharsh; and a sister, Adelaide Lawrence. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, from the Audioun Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donna Young officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home, 218 Main St., Port Byron.
