James C. Ware 1943 – 2009 Jim passed away on November 3, 2009 in Yuma, AZ. He was born in Salisbury, NC to Clarence and Azalea Ware. He moved to Tacoma, WA as a young man and went to work in the prosthetic field, making and fitting artificial limbs. He was the owner of Puget Sound Prosthetic Service for many years. As an amputee himself, Jim had an understanding and compassion for his patients and cared deeply for each of them. After retiring in 2002, Jim started spending winters in Arizona, where he took up the game of golf and enjoyed riding his bicycle and spending time with friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his son Butch, stepson Brad, brother-in-law Steve, and father-in-law Glen. He is survived by wife Sherrill, daughters Julie Ware, Jennifer Ware, sons Alan (Anne) Ware, Kenny (Sandy) Ware, and grandchildren Rocky, Michael, Ricky, Thomas, and Keisha. He is also survived by sister Elizabeth (Willie) Diaz and brother Jerry (Sandy) Ware, as well as many nieces and nephews. A gathering of Jim’s friends was held in Yuma on November 8, 2009. His family members will be present at the interment of his ashes in Tacoma, WA at a future time.
