Carolyn “Carol” Ruth Ware, 73, of Orangeburg, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at the Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at First Presbyterian Church, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Charles Elliott officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Huddleston, Ed Dickson, Tom Westbrook, Lee Shroads, Jeb Runager and Lawton Salley. The family will receive friends at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, and in the Presbyterian Centre after the service.
Carol was born Jan. 8, 1941, to the late John Raymond and Belle Tuten Ruth. She was a dental assistant and office manager for Dr. Spencer Dixon, DMD. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as Circle Four Leader. She also was a member of the Orangeburg League of Arts.
She is survived by her husband, George F. Ware of the home; three children, Julie Ware Osborne and husband Rutledge L Osborne II of Orangeburg, George John “Johnny” Ware and wife Patricia “Patty” Bookhardt Ware of Dorchester County, and Vicky Marie Ware and Eddie Lee of Orangeburg, four grandchildren, Robert Broche Jimenez Jr., George Ryan Jimenez, Aaron Calhoun Strickland and Olivia Belle Strickland.
