AUGUSTA – Delma Dorine Ware, 93, Augusta, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at the Lakepoint Nursing home, El Dorado. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary.
She was born Sept. 5, 1912, to John “J.B.” Burton and Ethel (McCrabb) McMillin at Centerville. She attended school in Linn and Anderson counties.
She married Alfred “Earl” Ware Jan. 15, 1930, at Garnett. He died April 1, 1992.
She was a homemaker, helping her husband with the family farm. She also was a cook at the Crestview Nursing Home, Ottawa, and the AOTT Sorority Hall, Lawrence. She was also a dietary aide at Ransom Memorial Hospital until 1974, when she retired.
She had lived in Linn and Anderson counties until she moved to Franklin County in 1942 and then moved to Ottawa in 1955. She moved to Augusta in 2003.
She and her husband were members of the Good Sams Camping Club, traveling all over the U.S.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta Hughes, Augusta; son and wife, Jon and Rosemary Ware, Auburn; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Ware, Augusta; a sister-in-law, Florence McMillin, Nevada, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James Ware; her parents; two brothers, Dale McMillin and Caroll McMillin; a sister, Vera McMillin; and a son-in-law, Lloyd Hughes.
Visitors may pay their respects after 5 p.m. Sunday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family will meet visitors from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Princeton Cemetery.
