Kathleen M. Ware, of Wichita, Kansas, retired SRS Social Worker, died Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas at the age of 87.
Kathleen was born the daughter of Guy Patrick Sheedy and Nellie May Oyler on Friday, January 27, 1922 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
On July 6, 1940, Kathleen and Walter Wyatt Ware were united in marriage in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage before his death on December 19, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and daughter Beverly Kathleen Willard in 1994.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy Keltch of Wichita, Kansas, grandchildren: Karen Ohrmann and her husband Rusty of Wellington, Kansas, Rhonda Cary-Sherman and her husband Todd of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Lenay Kingcade and her husband Mike of Carmen, Oklahoma, Kim Brzowski and her husband Chris of Hutchinson, Kansas, Randy Cary of Wellington, Kansas, Amy J. Troutman and her husband Jeremy of Wichita, Kansas, Jack E. Keltch and his wife Lilli of Wellington, Kansas, great-grandchildren: Kristin Gayden and her husband Patterson, Stephen Wade Maxwell and his wife Jamie all of Wellington, Kansas, Christopher Carpenter, Jay Masonhall both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Leanne Pennion and her husband Nick of Webb City, Missouri, Trevor Nance, Trey Carey and Falesidy Ohrmann all of Wellington, Kansas, Aaron Brzowski of Hutchinson, Kansas, Erion and Evan Kingcade of Carmen, Oklahoma, Cole and Cason Troutman of Wichita, Kansas and Jackson Keltch of Wellington, Kansas, great-great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Kaydence and Gabriella Gayden, Roxane, Chase and Kenna Maxwell and Kiley Pennion.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2009.
Funeral services for Kathleen will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the chapel of Cornerstone Mortuary, 5318 East 37th Street North, Wichita.
Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, Cherokee, Oklahoma.
A memorial has been established in her name and loving memory with American Stroke Foundation, 5960 Dearborn, Suite 100, Mission, Kansas 66202. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
