Mrs. Hilferty, 66, died June 10, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) in New Brunswick. Born in Wheeling, W. Va., she grew up in Hickory, Pa., and moved to North Brunswick in 1983 and then to Concordia in Monroe Township in 2010. Mrs. Hilferty was the recipient of one of the first heart transplants performed at RWJUH. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Edison. She was predeceased by her mother Hilda M. (Yates) Ware. She is survived by her father, Lester V. Ware of Pottstown, Pa.; her husband, John (Jack) Hilferty of Monroe; her daughter, Laura Hilferty of Philadelphia, Pa.; her son and his wife, John and Brooke Hilferty of Monmouth Junction; two sisters and their husbands, Hedy and Ron Kubarek of Limerick, Pa., and Kathy and David James of Charlottesville, Va.; her brother-in-law and his wife, Larry and Jeanne Hilferty of Houston, Texas; a grandson; six nieces and a nephew; and six grandnieces and two grandnephews. Visitation was held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick, followed by a funeral service at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edison.
