WARE, Mrs. Mona Ann (Leichner) of Frankenmuth, Michigan passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper, age 82 years. Mona Ann Wachowiak was born on February 6, 1929, in Saginaw to the late Anthony and Martha (Peplinski) Wachowiak. Mona was first married to Robert Leichner on November 20, 1948. He predeceased her on June 24, 1977. She was then married to Charles Ware on June 25, 1982. He predeceased her on January 31, 1990. Mona had worked as a legal secretary at the Frank Pulaski Law Firm for many years. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Bridgeport. Mona was an avid bingo player, loved to draw and write poetry. Surviving are her children: Marion (Michael) Klaczkiewicz, Frankenmuth William Leichner, Frankenmuth, and Elizabeth Ann Leichner-McKeon, Millington; two grandchildren, Matthew (Danielle) Klaczkiewicz and Jayna Marie Leichner; one great-grandson, Brandon Klaczkiewicz; many nieces and nephews; one brother and one sister, Duane (Joan) Wachowiak, Saginaw, and Katherine (Dr. Gene) Arindaeng, Livonia. She was predeceased by two sisters, Grace Leichner and Dorothy Sullivan. Memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd., Bridgeport. The Rev. Fr. Duane Wachowiak will officiate. Private burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., on Monday from 5:00-7:00 p.m., where a prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., led by David Wachowiak. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given to St. Christopher Catholic Church, National Assoc. for Down Syndrome or the American Lung Assoc.
