Janet Lee Jones Ware Obituary, 2013

WARE, Janet Lee Jones 60, of Clearwater, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, following a brief illness. Janet was born in Detroit, Michigan, on Jan. 5, 1953, to James Frederick Jones and Gladys Mae Sechrist. Janet graduated from Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois, and moved to Florida with her family in 1971. Janet devoted her life to her family and to the causes that were close to her heart. She worked as a fundraiser for the Mease Hospital Foundation as well as Suncoast Hospice and HPH Hospice. Janet was also an active volunteer with the Suncoast and Nature Coast Chapters of The Association of Fundraising Professionals serving on the Board of Directors and acting as Treasurer. Those who knew her say that Janet is one of the most kind and thoughtful people they have ever known. She was a free spirit, a refined rebel, and generous in all ways. Janet was a wise and gentle soul and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (David) Farmer of Tampa; her son, Steven Ware of Clearwater; sisters, Geraldine “Gerry” Shively of Melbourne; Virginia “Ginny” (James) Blouse of Largo; Christie Jones of Clearwater, and Patricia “Patti” (Gary “Nick”) Nichols of The Villages; as well as many nieces and nephews, her cats and “granddogs.” She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens in Palm Harbor, FL. The family will begin receiving visitors at 11 am, with the service starting at noon. Tom Beason, Director of Spiritual Care at HPH Hospice, will be officiating. Following the service, all are invited to attend a picnic and Celebration of Life at Philippe Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the SPCA or the Humane Society.
