YORKTOWN – Richard Paul Ware, Jr., 68, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Paul was born and lived in Dandy prior to moving to Cape Charles in 2000. He was a member of Cape Charles Baptist Church and retired in 1995 as a pipefitter from C.E. Thurston. He loved working in the yard, swimming in the Chesapeake Bay, but most of all he loved being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary “Kay” Ware; his mother, Delma Erdman of Dandy; two daughters, Paula Chambers and her husband Richard Chambers of Yorktown and Sharon Burkhard and her husband Larry of Cape Charles; granddaughter, Kelsie Burkhard and a grandson Noah Burkhard both of Cape Charles; a sister Sandra Morgan and her husband Jerry of Dandy; his very special sister-in-law, Joanne Miller of Seaford; and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fathers Richard Paul Ware, Sr., and John Erdman. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 11, 2013, in Amory Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russell Goodrich. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of ICU at Riverside Hospital for their care and compassion given to Paul.
