WARE — John E. Sr., Mr. Ware died Sunday, June 19th, 1994 at his home in Sequim, WA. He was a former 28 year resident of Encinitas, CA. He was born July 13th, 1921, at Camp Grant, Ill, to Margaret Wylie and Ralph LeRoy Ware. He gained notoriety as a high school football star in La Jolla and San Diego California high schools. He married Helen Elizabeth Graves Ware and entered the Air Force. He served in the Second World War, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received the Air Medal award along with numerous others. In 1956 he set a world record in changing a jet engine in a fighter air craft in under 7 minutes. That record still stands today. He retired from the Strategic Air Command in 1964 after 25 years of military service. He is survived by his wife, Helen Graves Ware and three children., Joyce Anne Ware Longfellow of Tempe, AZ. John E. Ware, Jr. of Boston, MA. and Christopher Wylie Ware of Sequim WA., 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Ware asks that those wanting to recognize his life and accomplishments send donations in memory of John E. Ware, Sr. to the Hospice of Clallam County, P.O. Box 2014, Port Angeles, WA 98363. A Memorial Service will be held on August 27 at the family home in Sequim, WA. Sequim Sunset Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
