Memorial services for Ruth Walker Ware, 84, of La Jolla, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the La Jolla Presbyterian Church chapel. Pacific Beach Mortuary was in charge. She died Monday in a her home. Mrs. Ware was born in Los Angeles, lived in the county 49 years, was a homemaker and was a member of the Wednesday Club. She had done extensive volunteer work for her church and for various community organizations.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Ware Hartel of La Jolla; a brother, Joseph Walker of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Riggs of San Dimas, Calif., and Mary Lynn Elliott of Mountain View, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family suggested donations to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.
