Myrtle Ruth Ware Obituary, 2014

Services for Myrtle Ruth Ware of Greenwood will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

Ms. Ware, 99, died of heart failure Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at her home.

She was a homemaker and a member of Morning Star. She loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was known as a great cook who specialized in peach cobbler and field corn.

She is survived by seven sons, Thomas Ware of St. Louis, Granville Ware Jr. of Chicago and Walter Ware, Lester Ware Sr., Vester Ware Sr., Leslie Ware and Leroy Ware, all of Greenwood; three daughters, Annie Ewing of Chicago, Daisy C. Miller of Memphis and Susie Ware of Tinley Park, Illinois; 32 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Century Funeral Home, followed by family hour from 6 to 7 p.m.

The Rev. T.C. Collins will officiate at the services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and sons and deacons of Morning Star will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Burial will be in LCMC Memorial Gardens in Carrollton.
