Robert Sherrell Ware Obituary, 2007

Robert S. Ware passed away of Saturday, March 17, 2007, in Ridgecrest, after a long, courageous struggle with cancer. He was born Dec. 8, 1935, in St. Joseph, Mo.

As a teenager, he moved to California, graduating from Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach. While working nights at Ryan Aeronautics, he earned a B.S. degree in accounting in 1964, from San Diego State College.

That same year, Bob and his family moved to Newhall. His accounting career included the positions of Controller at the Vivatar Company and at Magic Mountain, then owned by Newhall Land and Farming.

In 1991, he moved to Paradise Estates in Bishop. It was a perfect location for him, since he was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob was an expert gunsmith and built many of his own guns. His travels to places like Africa and Australia helped to embellish his unique talent of being a great storyteller.

He is survived by his daughter, Ava Renee of Valencia; his son, Sean (wife Karen); grandson, Shane; granddaughter, Lauren of Lancaster; and closest friend, Brigitte Ware.

Private memorial services were held March 21 in Ridgecrest.
