Ara Lynn Wamsley, 88, of 196 S. Main St., Apt. 110, Lewistown, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Malta Home, Granville.
Born June 3, 1922, in Mingo County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James Marion and Ressa Belle (Hyer) Ware.
Her husband, Paul H. Wamsley, whom she married March, 1, 1975, survives.
Also surviving are children, Karen Sue Carson, Mill Creek; Louise Flood, Lewistown; Gary Bender, Hudson, NC; Joseph Schueck, Millersburg; Thomas M. Wamsley, Cottonwood, AZ, Rebecca D. Shumway, Pauldin, AZ; Laura Lee Walmsley, Cottonwood, AZ; and Rodney D. Wamsley, Jacksonboro, TN;21 grandchildren,; numerous great-grandchildren; and three great-great=grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Mancil, Dale, and Ross Ware; a sister, Ola Ware Kyle, and a grandson, Bobby Carson.
Ara was a 1940 graduate and valedictorian of Beverly High School, Beverly, WV.
She was a member of Lewistown Christian and Missionary Church and a homemaker.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. 2010, at Lewistown Christian and Missionary Church with the Rev. John Looney offiaciating. Interment will be in Goodman cemetery, Huntingdon County. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday Aug, 20, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
