Homemaker was member of Hickory UP Church

Hilda M. (Peg) Ware, 81, of Hickory, died Friday, January 14, 2005, in Washington Hospital.

She was born June 4, 1923, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of George (Dewey) and Bertha Bromer Yates.

Mrs. Ware was a member of Hickory United Presbyterian Church, where she was a former deacon.

She was a 1940 Triadelphia High School graduate.

A homemaker, Mrs. Ware worked for Lang’s department store for seven years.

She was a member of Women’s Club, Senior Citizens Club and 500 Club, all of Hickory.

On October 16, 1942, in Kansas, she married Lester V. Ware, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Hedy L. (Ron) Kubarek of Limerick, Lina K. (Jack) Hilferty of North Brunswick, N.J., and Kathy (Dave) James of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, George Yates.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of services, Tuesday, January 18, in Hickory United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. R. Douglas Reinard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Hickory UP Church. Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Directors Inc.
