Robert Winfield Ware was born in Green township, Grant county, Indiana, the son of Rachel Ann (Vanhorn) and John Andrew Jackson Ware.

Robert married Emma Jane Rippey on 15 Mar 1883 in Severance, Doniphan, Kansas. They had the following children:

Robert passed away 15 Sep 1934 in St. Joseph, Missouri and was buried 17 Sep 1934 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Severance, Doniphan, Kansas.
