He was born in Apison, lived for several years in Southern California and succumbed to cancer in Harrison. Tony was a former welder, millwright and disabled Navy veteran.

Survivors include her his daughter, Destiny Thornton; grandson, Abraham Ware, of Lupton City; brother, Chuck Ware and sisters, Tammy Ray and Rebecca DeRosa; and special caregivers who assisted Tony during his illness, Joyce Lister, Charlie Massengale, Connie Rhodes and Denise Lee.

A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. in Denny Hill Baptist Church on Harrison Bay Road.
