TUPELO – Mildred Ware King, 87, retired teacher, died Sunday in Birmingham. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Tupelo First United Methodist Church with burial in Houston City Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. King, the widow of Howard L. King, leaves a daughter, Rachel Lee King Gilliland of Birmingham; two sisters, Louise E. Nix of Clarksdale and Margaruite E. Rodgers of Cupertino, Calif.; two brothers, Hansford A. Evans of Nashville and William N. Evans of Rogersville, Ala., and a grandchild. The family requests that memorials be sent to Tupelo First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir Fund or Senior Services.
