Funeral services for Alice Joyce Ware will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mark Swinney officiating. Committal service will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Alice, 73, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 2, 2017 in Alexandria. She was born November 11, 1943 in Ville Platte to the union of Abbie Savant and Loycie Thompson Savant. She was a Catholic by faith. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Winston Savant; one sister, Abby Gail Savant; her daughter, Melissa Ann Ware; and her nephew, Christopher Shipp.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: her husband of 58 years, Frank James Ware of Oak-dale; three sons, James Carlton Ware (Mary) of Oberlin, Ray Preston Ware (Christiane) of Oak-dale, and John Edward Ware of Eunice; two daughters, Anita Faye Willis of Oakdale and Laura Beth Ware of Kinder; two brothers, Albert Savant (Rose) and Robert Savant (Elaine) all of Ville Platte; one sister, Brenda Shipp (Jim) of Ville Platte; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Brandon Ware, Tommy Gean Willis, Trey Johnson, Danny Shipp, Bryan Savant, and Quentin Perrodin. Honorary pall-bearers to serve will be Jacob Rollins and Webster McDaniel.
Visitation will be held at today, January 3, 2017 in the Little Chapel of White Oaks from 5 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m., January 5, 2017 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel.
