Ellen M. Ware, 99, of Daugherty Twp., passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, in Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls.
Born March 12, 1917, in Johnstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Grumbling Vollmer, she was a former sales clerk with the Stirling Dress Shop, formerly of Rochester and Beaver. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rochester; VFW Auxiliary Post in Florida, and was a 1935 graduate of Rochester High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Ware Sr., in 1979; a brother, Charles Vollmer, and a sister, Jennie Anderson.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Donald W. “Ace” Jr. and Margaret Ware, Daugherty Twp.; two grandsons, Donald W. Ware III and his wife Teresa, Rochester, and John M. Ware, Palmerton, Pa.; six great-grandchildren, Donald W. Ware IV and Kristie Ware, both of Rochester; Luella, Juliet and Matthew Ware, Palmerton, Pa., and Olivia; a special niece, Sally Morocco, Florida, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday from noon until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester. Her pastor, the Rev. Gregory S. Clagg, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
