Mazie Josephine Wilson Ware Cumbee, 82, of Rustburg, died on Monday, September 24, 2018. She was born in Rustburg, Va., on December 19, 1935, a daughter of the late Lester Edward Wilson and Dovie Elizabeth Craft Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Ware; her second husband, William Cumbee; daughter, Elizabeth Ann McLean; brothers, Edward Wilson and Lorenzo Wilson; and her sisters, Lavorn Danos, and Myrtice Jennings. She is survived by her son, Daniel Ware; daughter, Vorndale Spitzer Kershner; brothers, Luther Wilson and Roy Wilson and his wife, Lois; sister, Eleanor Sheriff; son-in-law, the Rev. Thomas McLean; three grandchildren, Eric Spitzer Jr., and Meghan and Josh McLean; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Centra Hospice for their loving care of Mazie. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 2772 Bethany Church Road, Rustburg, Va.
