”Small Pox in Warren County
August 9th—’ Yesterday I visited the Bryant Willis place, about 3 miles from town, and found a case of small pox. The case, Mattie Ware, left her house two weeks ago last Wednesday, and went to Oak Ridge, about 18 miles distant, to her brother in-law. I cannot ascertain the name of the place at Oak Ridge from her. She was brought back last Saturday, and was in the 9th day of the eruption when I saw her. She is in an isolated spot, and her mother, who has had the disease, and husband, who has not, in the house with her.’ ”
