Also survived by son, DeLeon Ware III; her sister, Billie Anderson; other relatives.

She was the daughter of the late Norvell & Jesse Mae Gray.

She retired from the U.S. Department of the Interior, and continued working in an executive capacity in several community organizations.

Interment followed funeral services conducted at the McGuire Funeral Home, Washington, D.C., Saturday, September 5, 2009.”
