“Theron R. Ware, 74, died Dec. 14 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned, He was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Great Bend, the son of Charles Ewing “Doc” Ware and Clarice R. Losey Ware. A resident of rural Garfield since 1993, he was a retired curator at the Campbell House Museum in St. Louis, Mo., and was a volunteer at the Santa Fe Trail Center, working with the textiles collections and assisting with exhibits and was also a member of the Collections Committee.

Mr. Ware was of the Christian faith, and was a member of the Fort Larned Historical Society, Larned. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his friend and companion, Joe Burnham of Garfield; double cousins, Walter Losey of Fayetteville, Ark., Kathryn Javier of Garfield and Jean Ann Larson of Garden City; and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a double cousin, Howard Losey.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with Pastor John Grumman presiding. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery at Garfield.
