Floyd Buford Ware, 85, of Mt. Pleasant Road, Murphy, N.C., died Friday, August 24, 2001 at his home.
He was a native of Cherokee County, N.C. and was a World War II POW for 22 months in Germany and a U.S. Army Veteran. Floyd was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, V.F.W. and the DAV.
He was the son of the late William Milton and Mary Caroline Gladson Ware. He was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Ware. He is survived by his wife of 53 and a half years, Emma Kate Shields Ware; a son, Rev. Steve and wife Wanda Ware of Murphy, N.C., two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Ned “Tater” Loudermilk and Brenda and Rev. Rickey Carter all of Murphy, N.C., five brothers, Glenn Ware, Max Ware and C. S. Ware all of Murphy, N.C., Verlin Ware and Pat Ware, both of Danville, VA; a sister, Bertha Gladson of Murphy, N.C.; four grandsons, Brent and wife Lori Carter, Ray and wife Lisa Loudermilk, Andy Ware and Keith Ware; four great-grandchildren, Kacey Carter, Kevin Carter, Brody Loudermilk and Felicia Alexander Loudermilk.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Murphy, N.C. Rev, Steve Ware, Rev. Rickey Carter, Rev. Brent Carter and Rev. Hadley Shields officiated.
Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy, N.C. with Military graveside rites conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were Ray Loudermilk, Andy Ware, Earl Ware, James Shope, Jerry Gladson, Ned “Tater” Loudermilk, Kacey Carter and Tom Swartz.
Honorary pallbearers were Felicia Alexander Loudermilk, Brody Loudermilk, Kevin Carter and Tom Anderson and nephews.
Townson Rose Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.”
