“Annalou Ware, 82, of Yorktown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Annalou was born to her parents, Espy and Harriet (Barlow) Applegate. She was a lifelong resident of Yorktown and a 1946 graduate of Yorktown High School.
She worked over 20 years as Assistant Buyer for the children’s department at Ball Stores and was also an avid Chicago Cubs Fan.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Miers (husband-Dean) of Yorktown; three sons, Ed Ware (wife-Debbie) of Muncie, Brett Ware of Yorktown, and Bart Ware (wife-Erika) of Muncie; one brother, Wilbur Applegate (wife-Pauline); six grandchildren, Lisa Vuurman (husband-David) of Plainfield, Jeffrey Miers (fiance-Jackie Greene) of Yorktown, Jennifer Cox (husband-Tim) of Yorktown, Holly Luzzader (husband-Mark) of Yorktown, and Parker Ware and Molly Ware, both of Yorktown; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey, Macey and Brodey Cox, Nate and Cooper Luzzader, Tyler and Austin Vuurman and Alex Miers; special friends, Tim and Kathy Springer; close friend and first husband, George Ware; one sister-in-law, Rosalie Applegate; and several nieces and nephews.
Annalou was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Thomas and Charles Applegate; and two sisters, Maureen and Eileen Applegate.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at the Gant Funeral Home, Yorktown Chapel, with Pastor Tony Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in Yorktown Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.”
