WARE, CHARLES S. 91, of Marmora, died Saturday at Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point. Born in Cedarville, Mr. Ware has been a resident of Marmora for 20 years and is formerly from Haddonfield, Woobury Heights and Sea Isle City.
Predeceased by his wife, Helen M. Ware, he is survived by: three sons, Charles S. Ware III, Reade G. and his wife Joyceanne Ware, Douglas F. and his wife Margaret Ware; five grandchildren, Douglas, Matthew, Nathan, Melissa, Reade; and a close friend, Elsie Shearer.
Charles was a graduate of the School of Fine Arts, University of Pennsylvania, receiving the Alumni Award in Music Composition. He was also a graduate of the School of Education, University of Pennsyl-vania. He worked as a music educator in the state of New Jersey for thirty-seven years, twelve as Music Supervisor in the Haddonfield public school system and twenty-five years as a Music Consultant for the state of New Jersey in Gloucester County.
Mr. Ware spent forty-five years as a Church Organist and Choir Director, thirty-seven in the Methodist Church of Pitman and the remaining at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Marmora. In addition, he was a composer of symphonic compo-sitions, cantatas, anthems and piano compositions, International Christmas Carols book, co-author of the Richter Ware Organ Instructional Books for children and adults, Theodore Presser Co., Publisher.
His funeral service will be offered Thursday morning eleven o’clock at Trinity United Methodist Church, 20 North Shore Road, Marmora, NJ 08223, where friends may call from ten o’clock until time of service.
