Daisy J. Ware, 87, died December 15,
2008, at Wexford Retirement in Platte
County, Mo. Daisy was born on June 10,
1921, in Buffalo, Mo., to Ben Williams and
Hazel (Leach) Williams. At an early age
she and her family moved to Gorham,
Kan., Seminole, Okla., and then returned
to Buffalo, where she graduated from
Buffalo High School at the age of 16. She
attended Southwest Baptist College in
Bolivar, the State Teachers College in
Springfield, Mo., and later attended the
University of Missouri in Kansas City. After
teaching school for five years in
Buffalo, Mo., she moved to Kansas City
and held numerous jobs in the Kansas
City area and retired after 20 years with
the Western Auto Supply Company.
Daisy was preceded in death by her
loving husband of 41 years, Ola O. Ware.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy
Whitt and husband Donald of Kansas
City; one grandson, Christopher of Kansas
City; sister Mary Ann DeMott and
husband Richard of St. Louis, Mo.;
brother Ben Williams and wife Louise;
sister-in-law Ruth Williams of Kansas
City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:30
p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, December 19,
2008, at White Chapel. A celebration of
life memorial service will be held at 2
p.m. following the visitation. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests contributions
to the Pleasant Valley Baptist
Church, where she devoted many years
directing the children’s
Sunday school classes.
