“Geraldine M. Ware Dick, 77, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at her residence, following an extended illness at her residence.
Mrs. Dick was born on July 13, 1926, in Clover Lick, a daughter of the late Roy and Amber Cole Ware. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She received her education at Cresaptown Grade School and Junior High and graduated from Allegany High School in Cumberland, Md. She was raised in the Methodist faith. She enjoyed crosswords puzzles. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Gloria Dick of Fairmont; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Phyllis Ware of Cresaptown, Md.; two beloved sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Richard Jones and Penny Delauder, all of Cresaptown; two grandsons and their wives, Tyler L. and Pamela Dick of Fairmont, and Cole W. and Cindy Dick of Fairmont; four great-grandchildren, Tyson Dick, Tiarra Dick, Taron Dick, and Colbi Dick, all of Fairmont; five step grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Earl F. Dick, who passed on Sept. 29, 2003. The couple were married Dec. 29, 1944. A son Timothy Morgan Dick and three brothers, Calvin Ware, William Ware, and Charles Ware, also preceded her in death. In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, Mrs. Dicks body will be cremated.
A private family memorial and burial will be held at a later date at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Cumberland. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care, 201 Merchant St., Suite B, Fairmont, WV 26554 for their loving care and support during Mrs. Dicks illness. The Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, is in charge of the arrangements.
