Ruth P. Arbogast, 88, a resident of Valley Head, passed away at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, in Elkins Regional Convalescent Center where she was a patient.
She was born Oct. 9, 1918, at Mingo, a daughter of the late Earnest Perry Ware and Kate Wood Ware.
She was married to Orval Dexter Arbogast, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1991.
She is survived by two sons, Roger Arbogast and wife, Vicki, of Valley Head, with whom she made her home for the past eight years, and Troy Arbogast of Maryland; and one son-in-law, Robert Davidson. Two brothers, Don Ware of Paynesville, Ohio, and Ray Ware of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Victoria Rogers, Debra and Vernon Louk, Jeremy, Jody and Jedidiah Arbogast; and two great-grandchildren, Whitney and Jonathon Arbogast also survive.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Maxine Ruth Davidson; brothers, Okey, Ola and Conway Ware; and one sister, Daisy Arbogast.
Mrs. Arbogast was a homemaker and a member of Valley Head United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250 or the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center 1175 Beverly Pike, Elkins, W.Va. 26241. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Ruth P. Arbogast.
