WARE, HELEN ELIZABETH GRAVES , age 79, peacefully made her transition from this life at her daughter’s home on Thursday, November 22, 2001 – Thanksgiving Day. Helen married her La Jolla High School sweetheart, John Emerson Ware, Sr., in 1939 and they served in the Air Force all over the country and world. In WWII Helen supported the war effort as a “Rosie the Riveter” and when the Korean War broke out, she chose to remain in Japan. During peacetime, Helen served in the Red Cross, provided family assistance services in England an many other volunteer activities. However, her greatest gift she bestowed was her unconditional love and positive attitude. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, John Emerson Ware, Sr. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Sullivan of Leucadia, Calif; her three children Joyce Anne Ware Longfellow of Tempe, Ariz, John Emerson Ware, Jr. of Medfield, Mass. and Christopher Wylie Ware of Sequim, Wash. 11 Grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren. Services were held on Sunday, November 25, 2 p.m. in Tempe, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, family asked for donations to Hospice of the Valley, 2222 So. Dobson Rd, Suite 401, Mesa, AZ. 85202-6491.
