Mrs. June (Durrett) Ware, age 90 years, a resident of N. Brandenburg St. in Belington, WV went home to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ 6:10 pm, Saturday February 16th 2013 at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past several months.
She was born June 5, 1922 at Belington, WV a daughter of the late Oscar B. and Ocie (Tallman) Durrett. On June 28, 1942 she was united in marriage at Belington to Leo Paul Ware, for 70 years, who resides at their home in Belington.
Mrs. Ware is survived by one son Gary Ware and wife Linda of Belington, one sister Pauline Loar of Belington, two sister-in-laws: Barbara Sturm and husband Jerry of Porterwood, Dorothy Ware of Belington; a brother in law George Loar of Alliance Ohio. Several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters; her twin sister Jean Bunner, Dorothy A. Thacker and Mary Ware.
Mrs. Ware graduated from the Belington High School with the class of 1941 and graduated from the Clarksburg Beauty Academy. Mrs. Ware worked for Eastern Aircraft in Baltimore in 1943 as a Rosie the Riveter. Along with her husband Leo and son Gary she was co-owner and operator of Leo P. Ware and Son molding and dimension mill in Belington from the early 70’s until 1996 when she retired. She was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church and will be remembered for the many years she taught Sunday school and her work with children. She was a homemaker and a mother above all her earthly jobs and her family was forever in her heart. Those who knew and loved her will always have a special memory of her in their hearts.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington from 6 to 8 pm on Monday February 18th , 2013 and again on Tuesday from 8 am to 11:00 am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Rev. James “Oz” Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to the Concord United Methodist Church c/o Brian Poling P.O. Box 231 Belington, WV. 26250.
