Edison A. Ware Obituary, 2001

EAST BERLIN – Edison A. Ware, 84, of East Berlin, died at 12:45 a.m. Monday at his home. He was the husband of Lena Mae (Erwin) Ware. The couple observed their 59th wedding anniversary June 14.

The service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home Inc., 2290 School St., Shiloh. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ware was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Somerset County. He was the son of the late James H. and Cora M. (Sarver) Ware.

He was a retired machinist and worked for several companies in the York area. He was a member of Mohawk Gun Club and American Association of Retired Persons.

Mr. Ware also is survived by three sons, James D. Ware of Dover and Malcolm R. Ware and Keith E. Ware, both of East Berlin; a daughter, Diane S. King of Dover; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Ware of Stoystown; two sisters, Marian Zimmerman of Freedon and Nellie Klotz of Somerset; and nieces and nephews. Mr. Ware was preceded in death by a son, Edison A. “Eddie” Ware Jr., in 1980.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Gary F. Firster, a pastor of Dover Bethany United Methodist Church.
