Mary D. Ware, 78, of Gormania, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md.
She was born May 14, 1925, in Flemington, a daughter of the late Coy and Metta (Hefner) Reed.
Along with her husband, she was the co-owner of Gormania Trading Post and was a member of the Rebekkah’s Lodge of Aurora.
She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Ware Sr.; two sons, Fred L. Ware Jr. and wife, Patricia, Beverly, and Rodger L. Ware and wife, Sherry, Mountain Lake Park, Md.; two sisters, Janice Stotts and Martha Reed, both of Valley Head; one brother, James Reed, Barberton, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the temporary home of Stewart Funeral Home, 13141 Garrett Highway, Oakland, Md., across from Wal-Mart on U.S. Route 219 north, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Hickman officiating. Friends will be received at the Valley Head United Methodist Church, Valley Head from noon to 2 p.m. Friday. A service will be held at the church Friday at 2 p.m with the Rev. Robert Baer officiating. Interment will be in the Valley Head Cemetery.
