Mildred “Millie” Goddin Ware, age 94 years, a former resident of Chenoweth Creek and a current resident of Colonial Place, passed away Friday morning, July 17, 2015 at Colonial Place.
She was born September 20, 1920 at Romney, WV a daughter of the late Arnold Moore and Lura Greynolds Moore.
On July 6, 1943 at Elkins she was married to Elden G. Goddin who preceded her in death February 2, 1975.
On October 7, 1981 at Elkins, she was married to Philip W. Ware who survives at Colonial Place.
She is also survived by two daughters, Debbie Poe and husband Elmer of Washington, NC and Penny Lewandowski of Grand Rapids, MI, and one step daughter, Ellen Ware of Wilmington, NC. Grandchildren, Michael Poe, Erica Poe, Michelle Poe, Ruby Brown and Christopher Martin and great grandchildren, Lola and Carter Poe also survive.
The family is eagerly awaiting the arrival of another great granddaughter.
Millie was co-owner of Elden G. Goddin, Inc. Plumbing and Heating along with her first husband Elden prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star, the Lady Shrine and the First United Methodist Church where she served on various committees of the church and was a member of the We Care Circle of the church.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.
