Harry Thomas Ware Jr. Obituary, 2003

MILLSBORO – Harry Thomas Ware Jr., of Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington, died of complications of cancer Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in the Milford Center, Milford. He was 88. Mr. Ware was born in Wilmington, son of the late Harry T. Ware Sr. and Elizabeth A. Umphries Ware. He was a manager at Allied Kid in Wilmington, retiring in 1972 after 47 years. He enjoyed traveling, his retirement in Sussex County and his family and friends. Mr. Ware was a member of Christiana Masonic Lodge 35 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Newark, the Brandywine Forest 20 of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Delaware Consistory of the Scottish Rite in Wilmington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Mueller Ware; a daughter, Amy Jo Ware; a brother, Paul Ware; and a sister, Ruth Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Betty Cordrey Ware; three stepsons, Dennis Carmean of Laurel, Fred White of Portland, Ore., and Harry White of Millsboro; three stepdaughters, Carol Timbs of Dover, Mary Holloway of Georgetown and Joyce Hume of Wilmington; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Masonic services, followed immediately by funeral services, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where family and friends may call one hour earlier.
